Hello from Lagos · 03:47 AM-ish

OH HEY, A HUMAN.

I'm guessing this is the part where you get to know me...

Yeah, you're not seeing that.

Just kidding 😂

I'm FaruqSebastianCall me Sebby.
01 / Receipts

I mean, my GitHub contribution graph isn't one of those nerdy 3,000-contribution green forests you see online.

I code with Codex.

No streaks were harmed in the making of this portfolio.

They told me tech guys bag bitches.

They lied.

One good thing I've learned since becoming a developer is that apparently I'm multilingual.

Thanks. My mum can see my career now.

ALRIGHT, ENOUGH OF THE JOKES.

I'm serious now.

Faruq's story

I'm Faruq Etamesor, a developer and builder with a particular obsession with sports, technology and entertainment.

I've always wanted to be part of the sports and entertainment world in some way. I didn't necessarily know what that would look like — I just knew I wanted to build something that belonged there.

So I started building Masterspred.

What began as an idea turned into a real sports prediction community — and somewhere along the way, I found myself learning far more than just how to build a website.

I work across the frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure and product itself.

In other words:
I like turning ideas into things people can actually use.

03 / Under the hood

THE NERDY STUFF.

THE THING THAT GOT OUT OF HAND.

MASTERSPRED

A sports prediction community I somehow decided would be reasonable to build from scratch.

Me: This shouldn't be too difficult.

Also me: learning database concurrency, payment flows, CDN caching, load testing and why race conditions exist.

05 / Technical depth

BUILT BEYOND
THE UI.

01

Database

  • PostgreSQL
  • RPC functions
  • Transactions
  • Indexes
  • Concurrency-safe operations
02

Performance

  • CDN caching
  • API performance
  • Load testing
  • p95 latency monitoring
03

Payments

  • Paystack
  • Wallet top-ups
  • Coin ledger
  • Creator withdrawals
04

Infrastructure

  • Vercel
  • Supabase
  • Upstash

06 / Evidence

YES, I
STRESS-TESTED IT.

Not because I was worried.
Because I was professionally curious.

WHEN I'M NOT
STARING AT A TERMINAL

Most of my interests somehow lead back to sports, entertainment or technology.

Sometimes all three.

Which is probably how Masterspred happened in the first place.
